Sturdy but came with marks on the wood and badly bent drawer brackets. Outer packaging was fine. Damage was from packaging poorly.After I received item and opened the box only to see no instructions, I looked at the reviews. I wish that I had read reviews before purchasing.A. No instructions.B. Not all of the parts were included.C. Particle board furniture is better quality then this and cheaper.D. Had to use wood glue and staple gun for extra support (and not quite sure that will work since this is for a 6 year old boy)E. I really try to only purchase stuff made in the USA but again didn't look at reviews until it was too late.Please read reviews before purchasing. Reviews really try to help others make good purchasing decisions. As long as we are not negative and bashing.That said, go to a big box store or local business before buying this dresser.All the wood for the draws and the back of the dresser were bowed. Took 4 days working on it still not done?The assembly instructions were merely pictures with no written directions. One drawer was missing a pre- drilled hole making assembly very difficult. The bottoms of the drawers was a thin luan material and they were warped, making assembly difficult. One of the pieces of luan was not wide enough to fit the inside drawer dimension.The only sturdy wood was the drawer face, the top, and the side panels. The interior wood feels like balsa, the screws barely gripped and easily slipped with minimal tightening. I would NEVER buy this again.Cheaply made, not solid wood as description said. Screws did not stay on drawer sides and drawers fell apart. Back pieces flimsy and almost broke in half. Very disappointing.Very disappointing, the wood was cracked, the rails were uneven...a waist of money...Was not engineer right everything was off nothing match draws did not align back,top,and sides also
