I have this thrifted occasional table for years and it's been remade many times. The drawers are 10 x 3 and had the grooves already there. Each drawer had 3 wooden knobs that I've taken off. Because this is cheap wood I predrilled the start of the holes, not going through to the inside. Before I tighten up the screws I put in little labels (regular paper) I did on the printer. Once tightened the paper stays in place. I have another occasional table that I painted the same and just put a handle behind the original knob. I'm on the fence if I want the knob or the handle so I'll leave it for now until I decide. I will be buying more of these as I am really impressed on how they are made and look.
